The Ford Ranger makes things simple in the performance realm by offering up just one engine across all trim levels. The standard engine that comes with all iterations of the 2022 Ford Ranger is a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Baltimore drivers can enjoy a choice in the drivetrain realm, with options including rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. While the Ford Ranger doesn't have the longest list of trim options, it ensures plenty of upgrades via packages. Performance additions can be made by opting for the Tremor Off-Road package. The Tremor Off-Road package helps make the Ford Ranger into an ever more impressive off-road-ready vehicle thanks to features like a revised suspension with increased ground clearance, Fox off-road shocks, 32-inch all-terrain tires, underbody protection, side steps, and increased recovery hooks.
Technology
The Ford Ranger ensures plenty of tech features regardless of the trim selected. The Ford Ranger XL comes standard with in-vehicle Wi-Fi, a four-speaker audio system, and an AM/FM radio. If you're thinking of getting the base XL trim but wish it came with more tech features, then you might want to add in the optional 101A package. The 101A package adds a larger center display screen, a Sync3 infotainment system, and a 6-speaker audio system. Additional tech features can be had by selecting the XLT trim. The XLT trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity while also making an optional Technology package available. The Technology package adds in a navigation system, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control. The Lariat trim makes the most impressive set of tech features available. The Lariat doesn't make any tech changes with its standard trim offering, but it does make additional tech features available via the 501A package. The 501A package adds a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Interior Features
The Ford Ranger makes it easy to find an interior configuration that matches your unique comfort needs. For starters, the XL trim comes with air conditioning and seating for five. While not the most impressive set of features, you can opt for the 101A package, which allows for dual-zone automatic climate control to be added. The XLT trim doesn't make any comfort features available in its standard configuration, but it does allow for some to be added with the 301A package and 302A package. The 301A package adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel while the 302A package adds remote start, power folding mirrors, and heated front seats. The top-level Lariat trim gains leather upholstery in its basic configuration. More features can be added via the 501A package, which adds a smattering of convenience features.
Exterior Features
Exterior features range in terms of utility, with some being purely stylish in nature and with others being functional. The base XL trim of the 2022 Ford Ranger comes with 16-inch wheels, a manually locking tailgate, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 101A package makes power mirrors available while the XLT trim adds in alloy wheels. The XLT 301A includes an optional Sport, Black, or Chrome exterior package along with rear parking sensors. The XLT makes a 302A package available, which adds a manually sliding rear window and power folding mirrors. The Technology package offers up front parking sensors while the Lariat trim offers up a host of optional features. The Lariat come standard with LED headlights. The Tremor package offers side steps, recovery hooks, underbody protection, all-terrain tires, and a heightened suspension.
It's also worth noting that the 2022 Ford Ranger makes a host of driver assistance features available. The XL trim of the Ford Ranger includes a single driver assistance feature, which is forward collision mitigation. The XL makes a Co-Pilot360 package optional, which adds blind spot monitoring and lane keeping assist. Higher trim levels add in some additional driver assistance features. The Technology package (available with the XLT trim) adds adaptive cruise control and front parking sensors.
