For many Washington DC drivers who are shopping for a new vehicle research is part of the shopping process. This is the best way for drivers to see which vehicle has the features they are looking for. While spending time online comparing trim levels and spec isn't as fun as going for a test drive it is important. Luckily we have done the hard work for you. Check out how well the competition stacks up to the Ford EcoSport.

Ford EcoSport vs Chevrolet Trax

One of the top competitors in the subcompact SUV market that many Vienna drivers consider is the Chevrolet Trax. But the Chevrolet Trax falls short in our head to head comparison.

  • Interior Space: Interior space is the most important thing that a subcompact SUV has to offer Falls Church drivers and this I just the first way the EcoSport outshines the Chevrolet Trax. Both vehicles can seat five the but EcoSport is more spacious and has 50 cubic feet. The Trax only has 48.
  • Powertrain: The Chevrolet Trax only has one powertrain option; a 1.4L four-cylinder with 138 horsepower and gets 28 combines mpg. The EcoSport, however, has two. A standard 1.0L EcoBoost I-3 engine with Auto Start-Stop technology for maximum fuel efficiency while generating 123 horsepower. Or a more spirited 2.0L four-cylinder engine, also equipped with Auto Start-Stop technology, and kicks out 166 horsepower.
  • Price: At the end of the day no one wants to pay more for less. The Chevrolet Trax has a higher starting price, $21,000, than the EcoSport which starts at $19,995. The Ford EcoSport is also better equipped with more standard features that will quickly add up on the Trax costing you close to $30,000.
  • Ford EcoSport VS Honda HR-V

The Honda HR-V is another newcomer to the subcompact SUV lineup. But the HR-V can't compare to the Ford EcoSport in a number of ways that make the EcoSport the subcompact SUV for you.

  • Safety: Safety features are most important aspects of a new vehicle for many Mclean drivers. And this is just one way that the Ford EcoSport outshines the Honda HR-V. Standard features on every EcoSport are a rearview camera, SOS Post-Crash Alert, Emergency Brake Assist System, and AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control. Available features of the EcoSport include Reverse Sensing System, Rain-Sensing windshield wipers, and BLIS® Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert. And the Honda HR-V isn't available with any of these features.
  • Features: Not only does the Ford EcoSport have more safety features than the HR-V, it also has more entertainment features as well. The multimedia system on the HR-V is a standard 5-inch color screen that doesn't offer Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The EcoSport, however, has three available touchscreen sizes that come with two USB ports and SYNC multimedia system. The EcoSport is also available with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Price: One of the biggest difference between the Honda HR-V and Ford EcoSport is the price. They are very close in price but the EcoSport is a better buy with more standard features like SOS Post Crash Alert. The Honda HR-V starts at $19,670 and the Ford EcoSport starts at $19,995
